Courier Autumn

PPE Production Line Year 8 students in Design & Technology have been learning about Batch Productions through PPE Visor Production. In one hour students in one of the groups made over 138 visors learning about division of labour, quality control, flexible manufacturing systems, just in time and the importance of staff training. Students extended their learning in the following lessons looking at larger scale production methods and principles. Students worked and organized themselves into production teams for each component, appointed managers, couriers and during the process realized that workforces had to be flexible and be multiskilled to ensure batches were completed on time. This particular batch of visors were then donated to Devon doctors and Bidwell Brook Special Shcool in Dartington following requests. David Irish Page 27 Design Technology
