Our Students' Next Steps We are so very proud of the Year 13 community of students that have just left us. Despite a disrupted year in many respects, so many of them have gone on to secure places at top colleges and universities. Isaac has gone to the wonderful city of Bristol to study Mechanical Engineering , with a foundation year. The course is a new and exciting one which looks to develop an understanding of stress analysis, dynamics, heat transfer, mechatronics, materials and manufacture and, of course, maths. Students are taught in the univerity's new state-of-the-art facilities. The course has been developed alongside industry partners and features models on both aerospace and automotive engineering in the first year. Harry has chosen Bath University to read Mathematics . Harry will specialise in pure and/or applied mathematics whilst having the option to study units in statistics, computing, physics, and economics. Harry will be able to take advantage of international collaborations and research activities that feed into his undergraduate teaching. In his final year Harry will have the opportunity to use Bath University's high-performance computing facility ‘Balena’, which can perform over 110 trillion calculations a second Isaac Marles UWE Bristol Harry Mann Bath University Niall has gone to Bath to study Mathematical Sciences with a year abroad. Mathematical Sciences combines traditional mathematics with statistics and computing. In the first two years, Niall will explore an introduction to mathematics at university level before choosing areas in which he'd like to specialise in later in the course. Recent employers include Aviva, British Telecom, Deloitte, EY, PwC and Tate & Lyle. A perfect course for Niall! Niall Cashman University of Bath Estella has gone to Falmouth to study Graphic Design . Estella's course is an industry-focused design degree, she'll learn to be an adept visual communicator, developing core skills in typography, branding, visual language, craft and critical thinking. She'll also be able to spend plenty of her weekends enjoying surfing the Cornish coast. Falmouth must be one of THE best places to study (in our opinion!) Estella Carter Briggs Falmouth University Ella has chosen to read Liberal Arts with an International Year at Bristol. This rich and challenging liberal arts programme will allow Ella to explore the arts and humanities while building crucial skills in analysis and communication that will be valuable to her throughout her degree and beyond. In years one and two Ella will take a combination of bespoke core units her foundational issues in the arts and a choice of optional units from the full range of disciplines offered in the Faculty of Arts. Ella Fraser University of Bristol Adam has also gone to Bristol to study English and Film. Adam will explore the history of film and television, consider theoretical perspectives, appreciate how films are made and engage in practical film-making activities. Throughout his studies Adam will learn from a range of film and television professionals, and in his final year he will have the chance to undertake a placement in the creative industries.
