KEVICC Courier Spring

Page 10 Spring Term Highlights Sea Change, Drift Records & KEVICC We are delighted to announce that we have partnered up with Sea Change Festival, to offer an exciting ongoing opportunity for emerging musical talent in the college and wider area. Sea Change is a young festival of music, art, culture, food and drink in Devon. It was founded by Totnes’ award-winning Drift Record Shop , who lovingly curate the event with their favourite thinkers, speakers and players. Festival founder Rupert Morrison is an ex- KEVICC student too. On Monday 16th March 2020, KEVICC will be running the first annual music showcase with opportunities on offer for the young music makers to perform live at the Sea Change Festival in Dartington, May 2020. As a college we have a long legacy of producing chart topping and award-winning music makers with alumni including Joe Mount of Metronomy (who headlined the 2019 festival), Ben Howard, Cosmo Jarvis and many more. The exciting new collaboration is the perfect opportunity for a nationally acclaimed festival to support emerging talent in the region and to become a small part of the trajectory of these new talents. Festival founder Rupert Morrison explains; “We’re so excited to work with KEVICC, the music department positively vibrated with energy when we first went to visit and we honestly can’t wait to meet these new generations of music makers.” For now our students are busy working behind closed studio doors and the live showcase on March 16th will be the first opportunity to hear these newworks and talents.
