KEVICC Courier Spring

Page 12 Performing Arts A Disney Extravaganza By Nicky Hansford KEVICC's production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast was another huge success for the College, showing off both the talent and hard work of our students. One of the largest cast to do a musical at KEVICC recently, it showcased students from Year 7 to 13 with a double-cast, allowing more students to take principal roles. The show proved to be one of the more complex to stage both visually (creating enchanted castles, wolf chases in forests and magical machines) and aurally (with one of the biggest and most vast scores in recent years at the College). A special mention to the student technical team for running the lights and sound for the first time, Charlie-Rose Button in the role of Belle for helping with choreography and to the music department for such an intense musical score. The combination of all of these elements helped produce a slick, energetic and thoroughly encapsulating performance; with witty lines, quirky characters and the spectacle of costume and movement, this was a show to remember. Well done to all involved!
