Page 13 MFL Noscorrespondantsfrançais In November, we received our first letters from our French pen friends and we had to answer them in French! It was very exciting for our French Year 9 students to write about themselves in French and especially to know that they will be read by real French people. Our pen friends are from 2 classes of 4eme in a Collège in Gien near Orléans. They have told us lots about what they like, what they do during the holidays. It was fun to see how diverse French society is now with students fromMoroccan, Turkish, Caribbean or Eastern European origins. They are very intrigued by the royal family and would love to come to England. Our second letters have just arrived in the post. Brigitte Taverna Languages & Craft Club Last term, the MFL department launched their Friday lunch club for Years 7 to 9 students. In this club, we have had the opportunity to learn about different Spanish and French traditions through the production of different crafts. We started designing language stones with great success and we also made some “Mexican skulls” for the Day of De Death. In order to celebrate Christmas, we worked on sending our best wishes in French and Spanish and we are hoping to decorate some Easter eggs with Spanish and French motifs soon. If you fancy a relaxed break on Friday lunch time why don’t you pop in and attend our Languages and crafts club?
