Over a third of our students regularly commit to weekly enrichment events, including STEM club, Parkour, Theatre Tech club and the Climbing Club. Our Twitter handle is @KEVICC. #Keeping The Promise Primary Community Gymnastics Festival Over the course of 2 dates over 250 pupils from Dartington, The Grove, South Brent and Totnes St Johns attended KEVICC to participate in our Gymnastics Festivals. The festivals gave pupils an opportunity to practice skills in a variety of gymnastic disciplines including The Vault, Balance Beam and Floor. The event was designed and delivered by our fantastic Year 9 and 10 Sports Leaders who taught pupils how to perform each skill in a progressive and nurturing way. For many children it was the first time that they have had the opportunity to vault using a springboard and box, and although some were a bit apprehensive at first every child who attended performed a vault which served as invaluable practice for the upcoming competitions. “Many thanks for today - the children loved it! The sports leaders were ace!” Amy Humphries Year 4 Teacher Dartington Primary High Five Netball Festival Over the course of two delightful sunny mornings nearly 200 pupils from The Grove, South Brent and Dartington came to KEVICC to participate in a High 5 Netball Festival. The festivals were organised by the KEVICC Year 9 and 10 Sports Leaders who led activities which enabled the participants to work on their passing, shooting, footwork, gameplay and team work. Each individual workshop lasted for 15minutes and pupils rotated around so they could have a go at all of them. Primary students were awarded stickers for a variety of positive attributes that they had shown throughout the day including knowledge, demonstrating skills, helping others and effort.
