Save the Date - KEVICC'S annual Careers Fair

KEVICC's ninth annual Careers Fair returns on 21 January at 5pm for years 9 and 11.

If your child is in year 9, they will soon be making important decisions concerning the courses they will study next year leading to GCSE, BTEC and other qualifications at the end of Key Stage 4 (Year 11).

In order to support this process we would like to invite you to Careers Fair and Year 9 Subject Evening.

This will be the College’s ninth ‘Preparing to Succeed’ Careers Fair. The purpose of the Fair is to expand the horizons of our students and build up their career aspirations as they take the next step into choosing their future subject pathways at King Edward VI Community College.

The Careers Fair will provide an excellent opportunity for parents and students to talk to tutors, teachers and a variety of Business and Further/Higher Education providers about the qualifications required for their particular interests and career routes. There will be representation from a range of professionals from companies involved in law, politics and council, aerospace, engineering, decommissioning and demolition, healthcare, marketing, website design, Higher Education providers, Vocational and Apprenticeship Training Advisers and the Armed Forces, to name but a few.

There will be a presentation at 4.45pm in the Ariel Theatre led by Members of the Leadership Team who will provide an overview of the Year 9 Options Process.

Parents and students are also invited to visit the various classrooms around the College where there will be an opportunity to talk to Heads of Faculties and look at examples of students’ GCSE work to help inform choices.

Year 11 and their parents are also warmly invited to this event.
