Creating Monsters
The Friday lunchtime Craft Club got off to a roaring start
when students created some fantastic bookmarks. The
quick and easy bookmarks were the envy of their class
mates!

Craft club is a fun thing
to do in the library; the projects are really easy
. Students
can either take part in a group session or make their own
creations. The Craft Club meets on Friday lunchtime from
12.35 onwards.
All ages and ideas welcome.

Redworth Library is in the middle of being totally
refurbished, with wonderful new shelving; comfortable
seating and lots of new titles. The library is a great place
to come and study and read, as well as get involved in one
of the lunchtime clubs: book club, chess and craft club, as
well as storytelling once a month.
We have homework support every evening until 4.45pm
(except Friday) and on Thursday lunchtime too. We hold
various events during the Year including the very popular
Readathon and author visits. We have extended our
opening times too: on Monday to Wednesday we open at
8am; on Thursday and Friday 8.30am. We close at 4.45
pm every day except Friday when we close at 3.30pm.
We are open every break and lunchtime too - so there are
plenty of opportunities to come and explore the library!

Friday 7 November was our town/school
fireworks night at KEVICC. It was a brilliant
day, starting with rain and rainbows, and
then ending as a dry moonlit evening.
We had our usual BBQ and soups, with
coffee and toffee apples – yum – which
ran very smoothly with the help of
our stewards, catering team and the
school staff.
Thank you
to Morrisons &
Warburtons for their free bread donations.
The bunting, glow sticks and finger torches
were complemented by local performer
Rupert Elfric doing his fire-juggling and
light show act for us.
Thomas Greig and his music technology
team put together a fab outdoor music
stage, with such a natural sound quality.
Headliners local band Nino performed
after the fireworks: their sound felt like a
great and relaxed festival moment. The
KEVICC folk band kicked off the evening's
music at 6pm, followed by a series of solo,
duo and trio acts: Leah & Anna, Freya &
Merrie, Finn, Amber, with Livi, Ruby & India
singing up until when the bonfire was
started by teacher Neil Edwards. Skyburst,
with Ben Piper, shared their fireworks
show with us as the bonfire roared into

The sky lit up
the clear moonlit sky. A big thank you
to all the stage performers for stepping
forwards to share your songs: they were
simply – great. Also, a notable thank you
to Jamming Station, especially student
Lee Friese-Greene who, together with the
school Performing Arts department helped
facilitate much of the community music.
About 500 people came to our Fireworks,
and we raised just over £2000 to support
various aspects of the school.

always welcome

Organising and creating
this event takes time and energy and
we really appreciate the time & energy
everyone has individually put in to make
this happen – both for this event and the
other ongoing school support activities we
do. It's really great working in our KEVICC
Parent Association team with Rachel, Lee,
Mike, Corrine, Rowena, Jenny, Helen &
Sarah. Newmembers (single event support
or committee membership) are always
welcome, for further information please
