We had a great time picking out jewels and beads to
make into bracelets, charms and chains. Some of us
also decorated jewellery boxes and learned how to braid
friendship bracelets. We made gemstone and silver pieces
as well as simple beading. The results were stunning!
On the other side of the room a group were busy stabbing
at pieces of coloured fluff – they were needle-felting. This
ancient technique was used to make cloth before weaving
was invented. It was incredible to see the woolly creations
emerge from what starts as a pile of fluff. Flora made a
fairytale treehouse and decorated a hat.
If you would like to learn how to make jewellery or needle-
felt, then join the KEVICC Craft Co-op. Look out for notices
in the bulletin.

Students went on a two day trip during Activities Week in
the summer term to Wimbledon and the Emirates stadium.
We had a nice early start at 5amand travelled toWimbledon
ready for the first matches, starting at midday. We walked
around the famous grounds, bumping into the likes of
Roger Federer and enjoying the traditional strawberries
and cream! We had a group photo on Henman Hill and time
to wonder the courts prior to taking our Court Number One
tickets where we got to see the mens’ doubles quarter finals
and the mixed doubles quarter finals. We were then treated
to a marvellous invitational match where Goran Ivanisevic
was playing, demonstrating a wealth of talent and humour.
The next day, we went to the home of Arsenal Football; the
Emirates stadium. There we took a video tour through the
grounds, visiting the changing rooms, walking through the
players’ tunnel and holding our very own media conference
,complete with player interviews! A great time was had by
all! Look out for next Year's trip.
