Year 5 and 6 students from Diptford Primary joined us at KEVICC as they wanted to learn how to create their own
website. The students discovered the main features of a website and then chose topics for their own, starting to
think about design choices.
We used an online website creator called Wix for design, selecting a main theme, then changing the colours,
fonts and position of different features to make it unique. They added images and videos, which they particularly
enjoyed! At the end, they had a website they could access on the internet, from their primary school or from
home, and knew how to log in and edit their site.
They all did really well, were enthusiastic and had a lot of fun!

Property Design Challenge Day
Sixty Year 6 students from Berry Pomeroy, Stoke
Gabriel and The Grove Primary schools participated
in an exciting Property Design Challenge Day with
the Design and Technology team at KEVICC. The
students worked in teams of five, alongside Year
10 and Year 12 Design and Mathematics students.
Each company was given support and guidance by
our Year 10 team
Homes4U
who recently won the
regional
Property Development Challenge
.
The students were set the challenge of developing
development ideas to meet the housing needs of
local people for housing and to develop ideas in a
sustainable and ethical manor. The project was based
on a real life site in the Totnes area.
The students said:
The purpose of the challenge was to work in a team;
to work out the costs and to show us how important it
is to work together. I think we did very well.
We found it hard working out the costs and profit.
Our company made a very big profit so we did well.
I liked the reality and I would like to do it again.
One company manager wrote: My workers were very
disobedient and I was the best worker!
