Arts Award
Year 9 students visit Waterstones
In February twelve year 9 students took part in a
literacy visit to Waterstones Bookshop in Exeter.
Staff at Waterstones had taken time to choose a
range of new and diverse texts to present to the
students at the start of the visit with the aim of
prompting students to try a different author or a
different style of book.
Our year 9s spent the morning exploring the
bookshelves and, before returning to College,
were able to choose, individually, a book or
revision guide to support their own study
programme and a second book to read for
pleasure.
A big thank you to staff at Waterstones for
the care they took to find texts of interest to
our visiting year 9 students and for the warm
welcome we all received.
