As part of the Spanish Traditional Christmas celebrations, year 13 MFL
students received the visit of the Three Kings during the 6th of January. As a
mandatory tradition, the Three Wise men are in charge of bringing presents
to those that were good over the year, and they could not help but notice the
hard work of Matt Hartridge, Tom Forte, Ciaran Trimming, Amy Robinson,
Kelsey Gitsham and Alice Giorgi. The Kings brought them very interesting
Spanish aprons and a special challenge: to make a delicious Spanish
omelette to begin the January Diet.
I am pleased to say that all of them were edible and that none ended up on
the floor! Well done guys!

As part of the International Dimension programme and our link
with the British Council, we have the pleasure of welcoming to
theMFL Department our French, German and Spanish Language
Assistants Anne, Richard and Manmen.
They joined us back in October and, since then, they have very
kindly helped and encouraged our students to improve their
skills speaking a foreign language. They have delivered one-to-
one sessions with the Sixth Form students of French, German
and Spanish respectively, and they have also been running
different language clubs.
They are very pleased with the effort our year 10 students
are making in order to prepare for their speaking controlled
assessments. They are also very impressed with the quality
of their work and they are looking forward to meeting more
students in the Spring to practice their speaking exam. If you
are preparing for GCSE Speaking, come and join them at lunch
club!
